Program Principles

CRBF PROGRAMME PRINCIPLES

There are some basic principles we follow with our CRBF Programmes. These principles have been formed from what we find is most successful through our programme delivery.

Consistency

Consistent coaches for the tamariki & rangatahi so relationships can be continued and built upon.

Delivered over longer periods of time such as 2-3 years.

Collaborative

Partner and communicate with the tamariki & rangatahi’s whanau & other important people in the young person’s circle of influence.

Relational

Focus on the coach and young person’s relationship  with the CRBF staff providing support.

Inclusiveness

All participants feel comfortable in both the physical activity and connection parts of the coaching.

Format gives everyone a voice and allows our coaches to listen and build a relationship.

Organic

Encourage coach & young person relationship to evolve organically over time to build a trusting connection.

Advocacy

Our coaches view themselves as advocates for the young people in all areas in their lives.
