Our Values

YOUNG PERSON/WHANAU CENTRED HOLISTIC APPROACH

The young person & family are the centre of the development plan with the support of coaches and wrap around support, using basketball as the medium to develop mental, physical, spiritual and whanau health utilising the Te Whare Tapa Wha frame work.

TE PĀ O TE Pouākai

We believe it takes a village to raise a young person. Through collaboration with the people in the rangatahi’s circle of influence, we are able to best support them. This includes working together with key partners such as schools, clubs, community groups, associations & national bodies.

AKO

We value learning from each other, including a young person and coach reciprocal learning. We understand the learner and the whanau cannot be separated and are connected throughout the learning process.  We honour and learn from past young people and coaches, we value the present and we prepare for the future.

GROWTH

Basketball is utilised as a medium to open up opportunities for tamariki & rangatahi such as education, leadership and life experiences leading to character and social growth over the longer term. We facilitate the growth of positive sustainable behaviours in young people by utilising age & stage appropriate environments.
